Chandigarh, April 14, 2019: “Withdrawing its nominee Gen(Retd) JJ Singh from Kahdoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency by Shiromani Akali dal(taksali) neither surprised me nor shocked as I had already predicted that the gentleman general would ultimately be ditched by the party.”
Making this observation SAD nominee and two terms SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that she had already given a clear cut statement that sooner or later, the SAD( Taksali) would order general sahib to retire and my observation has been clearly vindicated. She said that her statement to this effect was carried in a big wasy in Punjab media.
Commenting on the reason for disowning the party nominee JJ Singh, the SAD supremo Ranjit Singh Brahmpura has stated that he was bowing before the “will of the people”, Bibi Jagir Kaur asked what barometer he had to calculate the public opinion. But for a section of NRIs who are hyper active on social media and are financially supporting her, Khalra has no support on ground, added Jagir Kaur.
“What has shocked me that the SAD(Taksali) leaders have not even consulted general sahib before making it public in press conference. He must be a few miles away in the constituency or just a phone call away. This is the most discourteous on the SAD (Taksali) leadership” she rued.
While addressing media, SAD supremo Ranjit Singh Brahmpura had admitted that general sahib won’t be even aware of the development and he had not been consulted.
The Akali leader said that Brahmpura and Co has taken such a decision without consulting the affected person shows that he is autocratic and authoritarian and wanted the same authority in the parent party now but the SAD had been totally democratic and could not afford to surrender its value system.
Brahmpura had opted out General JJ Singh in favour of Parmjit Kaur Khalra of Punjab Ekta party , a constituent of Punjab Democratic Alliance(PDA) unconditionally though expects she would be a joint candidate of entire opposition.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that Brahmpura has won’t be disturbed if she continues to remain PDA nominee which makes it crystal clear that PDA, SAD( Taksali) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are one and the same thing.
