Jalandhar, April 21, 2019: The district administration has changed the building of one polling station for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls to facilitate the voters.
The changed building of the polling station falls in Jalandhar Central Assembly Constituency.
Divulging the details, District-Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that in Jalandhar Central Constituency, the polling station in Rajmati Jain Girls High School, Ali Mohalla has been shifted to Sai Dass A.S Senior Secondary School, Primary Branch, Ali Mohalla.
He told that there are 1863 polling booths across the district and a total number of voters in the district was 15.74 lakh.
Sharma said that out of this 8.22 lakh voters are male, 7.52 lakh voters are female and 23 are third gender voters. He said that the district administration is duty-bound to ensure that every voter gets able to exercise their franchise freely.
Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to ensuring the polling was held in a the free, fair and transparent manner on May 19 in the district.
