Mohali, April 24, 2019: Senior Congress leader and the party candidate from Sri Anandpur Sahab parliamentary constituency, Manish Tewari today said that Punjab will contribute 13 seats towards the formation of the UPA-III at the centre.
Addressing a series of public meetings in Chamkaur Sahab assembly segment organized by the local MLA and Minister for Technical Education in the Punjab government Charanjit Singh Channi here today, Tewari claimed that the Congress led United Progressive Alliance government was certain to be formed at the centre after the completion of the 2019 General Elections.
He said, given the political atmosphere prevailing in the state under the leadership of the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, there was no doubt about the party winning thirteen out of thirteen seats from Punjab.
“While the verdict will be rejection of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his divisive and devastating policies during last five years at the centre, at the same it will be a verdict in support of the policies and programmes of the Chief Minister that he launched during the last two years”, the Congress candidate asserted, while adding that the countdown for the Modi government had already begun.
Tewari also lashed out at his Akali rival Prem Singh Chandumajra for spreading lies and disinformation campaign against him. He said, since the Akali candidate had nothing to his credit which he could claim as his achievement, he is now trying to spread lies and disinformation against him.
He urged people to confirm from Ludhiana which he represented for five years, as how much development he had unleashed there. “Ludhiana is not that far and you can ask your friends and relatives as how many projects I initiated there and I promise I will not just repeat it here, but will do double the work I did there”, he promised.
Speaking on the occasion Charajanjit Channi said that the people of Sri Anandpur Sahab parliamentary constituency were feeling privileged that they will be represented by a national leader who was certain to become a minister at the centre.
