GM Northern Railway participates in 17th Vendors Development Day
Ludhiana, May 15, 2019: Shri T.P. Singh, General Manger, Northern Railway along with Sh. Rajesh Aggarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Firozepur Division, carried an inspection of the Electric Loco Workshop and Diesel Loco Shed at Ludhiana. At the ELW, the General Manager was given a detailed presentation apprising him of the different works going on at the facility. GM later went around the different sections of the workshop showing keen interest in the bogie frame of WAG-7 and model of WAG-9 Electric Locomotives. A Gymnasium and a Recreation cum Meditation Center were also opened on the premises for the benefit of the Employees.
The General Manager inspected the Diesel Loco Shed, Ludhiana. He observed the maintenance procedures of the WDG-4D Diesel Locomotive and visited the different shops there. Later addressing the employees he motivated them to work in a systematic and disciplined manner to ensure quality work and timely turning out of Locomotives after maintenance.
The General Manager the participated in the 17th Vendors Development Day being jointly organized by Northern Railway and Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala at Dhandhari Kalan near Ludhiana. The meet was attended by over 300 delegates. Senior Railway officials from Northern Railway, RCF, Kapurthala, Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO), Director MSME, members of Chamber of Industrial Commercial Undertakings (CICU) were also present in the conference.
Speaking on the occasion Shri T.P. Singh emphasized on transparency of the procurement procedures, timely payment of bills and use of high-end technology spare parts for providing best public service.
