New Delhi, May 21, 2019 - Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi on Tuesday posted an apology for his tweet, in which he shared a meme that compares Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s relationships to the stages of polling.
The actor has deleted the tweet and posted an apology on his micro-blogging site Twitter.
'Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever,' Vivek said in a tweet.
'Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies tweet deleted,' he added.
On Monday, Vivek took to Twitter to share a meme that compares Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's relationships to the stages of polling.
The meme was a collage of three pictures -- one that shows Aishwarya with Salman Khan, another that shows Aishwarya with Vivek, and a third that shows Aishwarya with Abhishek Bachchan.
The first is tagged 'opinion poll', the second 'exit poll' and the third, 'results'.
The meme created by a Twitter user was shared by Vivek on his official handle.
"Haha! creative! No politics here....just life ," Vivek had said, while sharing the meme.
On the work front, Vivek Oberoi will be seen playing the titular role in the upcoming biopic 'PM Narendra Modi'.
The movie will be released on May 24, a day after the counting of votes cast in the Lok Sabha elections.
