New Delhi, May 22, 2019 (UNI) The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday in view of the counting of votes have asked the States and Union Territories to take adequate security measures of the strong rooms and the venues. The MHA has alerted the Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police regarding the possibility of eruption of violence in the different parts of the country in connection with counting of votes that will take place on Thursday. The MHA has asked the States and UTs to maintain law and order , peace and public tranquility. This has come in wake of the calls given and the statements made in various quarters for inciting violence and causing disruption on the day of counting of the votes.
