7-member Dera committee refuses to cremate Bittu until sacrilege charges dropped
Kotkapura, June 23, 2019: Dera Sachha Sauda Sirsa 7-member committee have refused to cremate Mohinderpal Singh Bittu who had been killed in Nabha jail by two Sikh prisoners .
The body of Mohinderpal Singh Bittu brought from Patiala to Kotkapura after postmortem was handed over to the family members.
According to 7-member committee of Dera Sirsa, the murder of Bittu is result of a planned conspiracy and the judicial inquiry need to be conducted into whole matter.
They also said that false cases sacrilege registered on dera premis need to be dropped.
According to dera followers, they would not perform the last rites of Mohinderpal Bittu till all of their demands are not accepted.
But on the other hand, the administration is trying to pursue the family members and committee, for cremation and a meeting was also arranged today by the administration in this regard at Nam Charcha Ghar at Kotkapura which was attended by DC Kumar Sourav Raj, SSP Raj Bachan Singh Sandnu and Commissioner Faridkot Division Ravinder Kaushik.
In the meeting, the demand was raised by the committee members to cancel all the sacrilege related cases besides putting a demand for judicial inquiry. But there was no consensus, after holding a meeting for about an hour. However, time was taken till morning from the committee members with the result the cremation could not be done.
Added here, Bittu had been lodged in the high-security Nabha jail for the past 11 months who was nabbed by SIT of Faridkot police from HP last year. He had been booked under various Sections of IPC and Arms Act, for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs carrying an illegal weapon and involved in unlawful activities, besides recovery of Sikh scripture, from his house lying in a disrespectful condition in scrap and 25 empty cartridges of .32 bore gun.
