Chandigarh, July 21, 2019: After his resignation was accepted by the Punjab governor, former Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday reached his official residence, which is located near the Punjab Chief Minister’s official house, in Sector 2 here to officially hand it over to the government.
Mediapersons present there tried to talk to him but Sidhu refused to oblige them and remained in his vehicle and after completing the formalities of handing over the house to authorities concerned, Sidhu left the place.
He also tweeted that “Have vacated the ministerial bungalow, handed it over to the Punjab Government”.
On Saturday, majority of household goods were loaded and transported out by trucks and the remaining things were taken today by Sidhu.
He had to come today as according to the rules, the person to whom the government house has been allotted has to be present to hand it over.
The house was allotted to Sidhu more than two years back after he became a minister in the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab Government.
