Nawanshahr, August 16, 2019: The Industry and Trade Minister, Sunder Sham Arora, after hoisting the national flag to mark the Independence Day here on Thursday, dedicated the first block of the District Administrative Complex, inaugurated the Self Made Government Primary School Ramraipur and kick started the Fish Feed Mill Project at village Danduha in the district.
The Industry Minister, while dedicating the District Administrative Complex to the public, has come out with a path breaking as well as noble gesture. He invited Savreet Sharma, one of the students of the Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Nawanshahr, standing there to welcome the Chief Guest, to cut the ribbon to formally inaugurate the DAC.
"The setting up of the District Administrative Complex is one of the noblest initiative of the Punjab government to provide hassle free delivery of public utility services related to various departments under one roof to the residents of SBS Nagar district and it would be a good omen if a daughter would solemnise the ceremony" said the Minister.
Deputy Commissioner, Vinay Bublani, while apprising the Minister of the progress of construction work of second block, said that almost 80 per cent of the construction work of the SSP Wing of the DAC had been completed. The offices of the different departments would be shifted to the DAC’s fisrt block within month. It would make the access of the general public easy to the different utility services. As many as 20 departments to be accommodated in the first block, he added.
The Minister asked the concerned authorities to complete the remaining work of the SSP wing within three months.
Later, the Minister, replicating the noble gesture again, invited a girl student, Baljinder Kaur of class fifth, to perform the inauguration ceremony of the Self Made Government Primary School, Ramraipur. He announced a grant of Rs. One lakh for the betterment of school.
MLA Angad Singh, lauded the dedicated efforts of the school teachers, NGOs, local and NRI philanthropists for extending wholehearted cooperation to the "Shikhiya Sudhar Muhim" , currently underway in the state. So far, as many as 3700 schools have been converted into smart schools.
DEO( EE), Satinderbir Singh said that as many as 125 primary schools had been converted into smart schools in the district and 50 more schools would be made smart shortly.
Lastly, the Minister kick started the "Fish Feed Mill Project" set up at a cost of Rs. 26 lakh at National Fish Nursery Farm, Dhanduha in the district. With making the project operational, the Fish Farm would become self sufficient in Fish Feed preparation for supplying the same to the farmers opting for fish farming. The Minister also inaugurated "Aquatic Animal Health and Environment Management Laboratory" set up at the cost of Rs.40 lakh. He exhorted the farmers to avail the maximum benefit of the state of the art Laboratory equipped with the latest technology and knowhow to adopt fish farming. It would ultimately help the farmers to make agriculture a lucrative venture.
The Balachaur MLA, Darshan Lal Mangupur, DC Vinay Bublani, SSP Alka Meena, Nawanshahr SDM Dr. Vineet Kumar, Banga SDM Deepshikha Sharma, DCC President Prem Chand Bhima, Senior Congress leader Satvir Singh Palli Jhikki, among others, were also present on the occasion.
