Modi-Amit Shah-Sukhbir Trio Have Stooped So Low For Petty Political Gains That They Are Equating This Decision With Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Parkash Purab
Says The Trio Has Once Again Proved That They Want To Patronise Those With Terrorist Ideologies
Ludhiana, September 29, 2019: Ravneet Singh Bittu, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, from Ludhiana, today termed the commuting of death sentence of hardliner Balwant Singh Rajoana to life imprisonment by the Union government as a black day for the state.
He alleged that this decision has been taken by the Narendra Modi-led government on the behest of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
In a strongly worded statement issued here today, Bittu said that the Modi government and their alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal have stooped so low for petty political gains that they are now equating this unfortunate incident with the 550th Parkash Purab celebrations of first Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He said that this clearly depicts that the BJP and Akali Dal want to patronise those having terrorist agenda throughout their life.
MP Ravneet Singh Bittu said that with this unfortunate decision, the notorious Narendra Modi-Amit Shah-Sukhbir Singh Badal trio have provided respite and empowered Khalistanis as well as people supporting Referendum 2020.
He said that on one side the Punjab Police is working hard to bust several terror modules in the state, and on the other the Union government on the behest of Akalis are patronising Khalistanis as well as the extremists who created havoc during the dark days of terrorism in Punjab.
He said that this clearly shows that the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah-Sukhbir Singh Badal trio want to disrupt the hard-earned peace and communal harmony of the state, for which Chief Minister Sardar Beant Singh laid down his life.
Balwant Singh Rajoana
He said that Khalistani Balwant Singh Rajoana has always openly admitted that he does not have any faith in the Indian judiciary as well as the Indian state.
“Rajoana had also refused to appeal against his death sentence, but strangely the Union government commuted his death sentence to life imprisonment without any request by Rajoana or his family. This clearly shows that Narendra Modi-Amit Shah-Sukhbir Singh Badal trio want to patronise terrorism in Punjab, which is growing fast under the leadership of Congress party. They should also clarify as to what forced them to take such a hasty decision,” Bittu said.
Bittu recalled the services of Beant Singh in restoring peace to the trouble-torn Punjab during the turbulent period of militancy and said that he is best remembered for providing strong and determined leadership to the state in very troubled times.
“On one side his death sentence has been commuted to life imprisonment, while on the other he is not sorry for his acts and has openly vowed to repeat them if given a chance. The Modi government as well as the Akalis should remember that more than 35000 innocent people had lost their lives due to the havoc created by people like Balwant Singh Rajoana. One can imagine would could happen if Rajoana comes out on parole and try to reorganise like minded people,” he alleged.
While taking aim at Rajoana’s sister, Bittu said that on one side she claims to have no faith in the judicial system or government, and now she is thanking the union government.
“This clearly shows their double standards,” alleged Bittu.
MP Bittu said that he, along with all peace loving Punjabis, would continue his fight against people like Rajoana because he would not let anyone disrupt the hard-earned peace and communal harmony of Punjab.
