Delhi Air Pollution: Kejriwal is working on vote bank by accusing Punjab farmers: Pinki
Ferozepur, November 15, 2019: Commenting on the statement of Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi for accusing the Punjab farmers over pollution due to stubble burning, Parminder Singh Pinki, Congress MLA from Ferozepur said, “Kejriwal is doing little beyond playing politics to address the problem but working on the ideology of vote bank by accusing the Punjab farmers”.
He further said, we all living in India, are responsible for the creation of pollution in the environment in any form but it is wrong on the part of Kejriwal for blaming the farmers community for pollution due to stubble burning in Delhi.
Pinki said, the Punjab government is coming up with various schemes for the farmers especially for the marginal farmers who are being paid Rs.2500 per acre as compensation for not burning the paddy residue and making all out efforts that next time there is less pollution.
On asking about the dual policy of Kejriwal – speaking in favour of Punjab farmers on his visit to Punjab and on reaching Delhi giving anti-farmer’s statements – Pinki said, Kejriwal is puzzled as to what to do and he is simply working on creating his vote bank.
He said, Delhi is the capital of India and I too feel that it should be pollution-free as the number of dignitaries visit this place from all over the world, we are trying for its early solution.
Rather, I would ask Kejriwal that Delhi government has a huge collection of revenue from taxes and give some relief to the Punjab and Haryana farmers to compensate to dispose of the stubble, said Pinki adding It is easy to say anything but to be practical is more important, he added. Since the elections are near future, Kejriwal is doing politics on his vote bank.
