Chandigarh, December 8, 2019: Four-time Punjab Chief Minister and doyen of Punjab politics, who is an epitome of humility and humanity, Parkash Singh Badal has turned 92 years old today.
Born in 1927 in Village Abul Khurana, near Malout, Badal started his political career in 1947 right after he graduated from Forman Christian College, Lahore.
Before his rise in Punjab politics, he was Sarpanch of Village Badal and later Chairman of Block Samiti, Lambi.
He was first elected to Punjab Vidhan Sabha in 1957 on a Congress ticket.
Badal was Chief Minister of Punjab from 1970 to 1971, from 1977 to 1980, from 1997 to 2002, and from 2007 to 2017.
