Fatehgarh Sahib. January.21, 2020: The district Social Security Child and Women department organised a health awareness seminar for the senior citizens here today. Amrit Kaur Gill Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the seminar, whereas Jobandeep Kaur District Social Security Officer presided over and Dr. Pankaj Preet Singh head of the Physiotherapy department of SGGS World University was the key speaker.
In her inaugural address DC said that district administration has great regard for the senior citizens, they will be given due respect in all Govt. offices and directions have been issued in this regard. She said that it will be ensured that they don’t have to make rounds of Govt. offices for redressal of their grievances and their works will be done on priority.
Addressing the seminar Dr. Pankaj Preet gave live demonstration and tips to the senior citizens how to keep them fit by taking certain simple precautions. He said the senior citizens must be aware about their physical health and should ensure regular check up. He said that they should also take some light exercises along with walk as only walk is not sufficient. He said that they should initiate any physical work as per their capacity and over burden will damage their strength. They should take the medicines as prescribed by the doctors. He offered free physiotherapy camps for the senior citizens.
