U-DISE data helps in providing basic infrastructure by Centre and State governments: Kulwinder Kaur
Ferozepur, January 28, 2020: To improve transparency and accountability in the education system, U-DISE (Unified District Information System for Education ) data helps in providing basic infrastructure by Centre and State governments, said District Education Officer, Kulwinder Kaur.
Every year a survey is conducted in each school – government, aided, private, local body Centre schools etc – about the number of students, teachers and availability of basic facilities, infrastructure, which speaks about the health of the education system in the state.
Giving this information, DEO said, U-DISE system is being put online in all 1100 schools in the district by lining the E-Punjab Portal of Education Department. The instructions have been issued to all the schools to update the data online by February 10, to finalize the annual plans at the Centre and State level.
Pawan Madan, District Coordinator (MIS) giving information about the MIS system said, on the basis of U-DISE data, the State rankings are done with regard to grace enrollment ratio, net enrollment ratio, students drop out rate, transition rate and student-teach ratio, he added.
He said, all the 1100 schools will be covered during this survey – 832 Govt. Primary and Upper Primary, 10 Aided, 5 Centre Schools, 4 Local Bodies, 246 Private, one Adarsh, one PSEB school and one meritorious school.
