Amid curfew, DC Ferozepur gives healing touch by providing medical services at doorsteps of two rural families
Ferozepur, March 28, 2020: Espousing the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's efforts to provide basic and emergency services to the needy people at their doorstep, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Kulwant Singh on Saturday ensured ambulance services for two families to take their sick members to the civil hospital.
Responding swiftly to the phone call from Asha worker, Deputy Commissioner dispatched Red Cross ambulance to take sick persons to the civil hospital
Taking a swift action on the phone call from an Asha worker Salwinder Kaur of Village Khilchi Kadim, the DC immediately dispatched an ambulance at the doorstep of one of the villagers named Sukha whose wife Mrs. Neta was not feeling well and in need of emergency medical services.
The Red Cross ambulance reached the village within a couple of minutes after the instructions issued by the deputy commissioner and rushed the sick woman Neta to the civil hospital Ferozepur, where her treatment was initiated by the expert doctors.
Similarly, the ambulance and medical services were provided to a sick person in the village Khanpur who requested an ambulance to the deputy commissioner. Secretary district Red Cross society Ashoke Behal said that giving major succor to the two families, the ambulance and medical services were provided to these two poor and needy families.
Hailing the efforts of Asha Worker Salwinder Kaur, the DC said that it was our duty to come forward for the help of needy and weaker sections of the society in this hour of distress. The deputy commissioner said that all the emergency and essential services have been exempted from the curfew so that people of the district can avail of these services. He said that the powers of issuing curfew pass to the stuck up people have been delegated to the Tehsildars and Nayab Tehsildars and similarly curfew passes have been issued to essential services providers including vegetable, fruit and grocery sellers and chemists.
DC further said that a district-level fund has also been raised to help the poor people as district administration was duty-bound to extend a helping hand to the people of the district. Kulwant Singh said that every effort was being made to further streamline the supply of essential goods amidst the curfew and assured the people that no stone would be left unturned for this noble cause.
