ONE BRANCH OF EVERY BANK TO REMAIN OPEN FROM 11 AM TO 2 PM

FAZILKA, MARCH 28, 2020: In order to ensure smooth functioning of banks, the District Magistrate Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu on Saturday gave three hours relaxation in curfew to banks in Urban, sub-urban and rural areas of Fazilka.
Issuing orders in this regard, the District Magistrate decided to keep the banks open from 11 am to 2 pm with skeleton staff by ensuring proper hygiene and sanitation measures.
As per the partially modification in his earlier orders issued on March 26, Mr. Sandhu said that one branch of every bank in urban and sub urban area will be opened with skeleton staff from 11 am to 2 pm for normal working days. The DM also authorised the Lead Bank Manager Fazilka to prepare the list of banks operational in the rural areas to make a roster of these branches on certain days of the week.
The orders further stipulated that the branches will carry out only cash transactions, government transactions and some other clearing functions relating to the essential services besides opening of currency chest to to fulfill the cash requirements.
District Magistrate also mandated bank managers to ensure proper implementation of instructions issued by health department in view of containing COVID-19 during working hours including hygiene and sanitation measures and wearing of masks and gloves by the staff. The social distancing i.e. 1 to 1.5 meter will also be ensured.
