Home delivery of medicines, ration, vegetables underway in district: Ghanshyam Thori
Sangrur, March 30, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Mr. Ghanshyam Thori, on Monday, said that regular efforts are being done to reach out the stranded residents of Sangrur district in various parts of the country. DC said that the family members of stranded persons could contact district control room helpline 77078-91837 and immediately process will be initiated to send them food and other essential items by coordinating higher officials of particular region.
DC said, "We have received a call that 161 resident of Sangrur are stranded in Nanded Sahib and I immediately coordinated with DC Nanded to ensure their safe stay." He added that to bring back the residents of Sangrur from various parts of Punjab, families members are being facilitated with limited period passes.
Mr. Thori said that door to door supply of medicines, ration and other essential items is being ensured and a dedicated cells has also been set up to monitor the supply. He said that for the availability of some life saving drugs, the administration has established contacts directly with manufacturers. He added that a helpline number 76529-61793 has been set up for medicines supply and people could prescriptions on this number for the medicines which are not available with the chemists in the district.
