April 07, 2020: Reacting to the appeal of Prime Minister, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, and staff has contributed one day's salary to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund/PM Cares. Dr. Zora Singh Chancellor of the university said that due to the spread of pandemic COVID-19, the world is facing an unprecedented confront amid communities and economies. The world is coming together to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing governments, organizations, industries and individuals together. Approximately every nation, sector, organization, community and household is struggling from its brunt.
He said that they are always there to stand by the nation in every facet; it is the time when everyone should come forward and extend whatever support he can, every contribution is imperative, what matters is the lives of people. He also expressed gratitude to doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, police, government staff, and other people who are engaged in providing essential services.
Pro- Chancellor, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, said that, as a responsible citizen, it’s our full responsibility to take all precautionary measures and extend our support to overcome this situation of catastrophe.
