Comedian Kapil turns producer___ Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma marks his debut as a producer with TV show Comedy Nights With Kapil. Adding to the madness, he will be seen donning multiple avatars, that of an actor, scriptwriter and producer in his production debut. Known for his strong comic timing as well as his ability to find humour in any situation, he will present a distinctive take on everyday life in a fresh way. The show is likely to hit the small screen in June on Colors. At the same time, the 32-year-old will be seen exhibiting his dancing skills on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, which is also going on air next month.

New Delhi, August 17 (babushahi.com bureau): An Indian contingent comprising of 136 persons (81 Athletes, 34 Coaches, 4 Managers, 8 Doctors/Masseurs/ Physiotherapists and 9 others) have been cleared for participation in XXX Olympic Games, London, 2012 at cost to Government. Besides the above, 2 “P” Category Hockey players, 2 Shooting and 2 Tennis Officials have also been cleared at cost to Government. This was stated by Shri Ajay Maken, Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports, in the Rajya Sabha yesterday, in a reply to a question by Shri Om Prakash Mathur.
The Minister further stated that an expenditure of Rs.135.60 crores (Rs. 65.05 crores on Coaching Camps and Rs.70.55 crores on Foreign Exposure) has been incurred by Sports Authority of India. Besides this, an amount of Rs.10.32 crore has been spent from National Sports Development Fund in preparation of athletes for London Olympics. The Ministry has sanctioned an amount of Rs.1.10 crore for participation of athletes/coaches/managers/officials etc. in the Games plus air-travel expenses for the to and fro journey to London.

New Delhi, August 10 (babushahi.com bureau): India's wrestler Amit Kumar lost in the quarterfinals of the 55 kg Free style Event as Amit was defeated 1-3 by Vladimer Khinchegashvili of Georgia at the London Olympics on Friday.
The 18 year old Sonepat wrestler, youngest ever to represent India in Olympics Wrestling, had earlier won against Hassan Rahimi of Iran 3-1 to enter the quarterfinal round.
The Delhi grappler, who in his very first international meet in the United States earlier this year won a gold, managed to hold on his Iranian opponent till the second period before getting lucky with the toss to earn himself a clinch position, which he utilised to the best of his capabilities.
In the third period Amit fought with aggression and managed to squeeze a winning point after employing a lethal putt, leaving the Iranian with no chance of making a comeback.

New Delhi, August 6 (babushahi.com bureau): At the London Olympics, India’s MC Mary Kom has entered the semifinals of Women’s Boxing in the 51kg category. Mary Kom comprehensively beat Maroua Rahali of Tunisia 15-6 in the quarterfinal bout held today.
With this win, Mary Kom is assured of at least a bronze medal in the Olympics.

New Delhi, August 3 (babushahi.com bureau): Marksman Vijay Kumar has won India a silver medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event at the Olympic Games in London on Friday.
Vijay's scored 5-4-4-3-4-4-4- En route to his total score of 585, Kumar became the second shooter to break the previous Olympic record of 583 during the second stage of qualification.
Placed fourth in the list, Kumar, who had scored 293 in stage 1 of the qualification yesterday, shot a series of 98 97 97 in the second stage to take his total score to 585.
He shot a sequence of 99 96 98 at the Royal Artillery Barracks.
The Army man will be competing with five shooters for a medal.
Pre-Games medal favourite Ronjan Sodhi had yesterday failed to qualify for the double trap event.
Russian Alexei Klimov created a new world record by shooting 592.
He scored a total of 592 after Stage 2, breaking the existing world record of 591 and Olympic record of 583, with 294 points in Stage 1 and a staggering 298 out of 300 in Stage 2.(ST-03/08)

London, August 2 (Babushahi.com Bureau) : Saina Nehwal today created history as she became the first Indian shuttler to reach the semifinals of the Olympics after notching up a hard-fought straight-game victory over Tine Baun of Denmark in the women's singles quarterfinals at the London Games, here on thursday.
Fourth seeded Saina edged past fifth seed Tine 21-15 22-20 in a 39-minute match at the Wembley Areana to set up a clash with the current world No 1 and World champion Yihan Wang of China in the semifinals, whom she hasn't beaten once in her last five encounters.
With this win, Saina bettered her quarterfinal finish at the Beijing Games four years ago and also excorcised the demons of that painful defeat to Maria Kristin Yulianti of Indonesia.

New Delhi, July 30 (babushahi.com bureau): Shooter Gagan Narang opens account in India's Medal tally at the London Olympics 2012 after clinching bronze medal in the 10 metre air rifle event with an overall score of 701.1.
Narang shot 103.1 in a gripping ten-shot finals for an aggregate of 701.1 after scoring 598 in the qualifying round in which also he stood third.
Narang's compatriot and defending champion Abhinav Bindra had, however, suffered a shocking exit with his dismal show in the preliminaries in which he stood 16th out of 47 contestants with a score of 594 out of 600.
Narang's bronze medal is only the third in shooting on the planet's biggest sporting event after Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore's silver in double trap in Athens 2004 and Bindra's gold in the last Games at Beijing.

London, July 30 (Babushahi.com Bureau) : Abhinav Bindra Beijing Games gold medallist crashed out of the 10m air rifle event at the London Olympics with a dismal display in the qualifying rounds. but Gagan Narang kept alive India's hopes as he advances to the medal round.
Bindra shot 594 out of 600 to finish a shocking 16th out of 47 competitors and lost the golden chance of becoming the world's first shooter to win two successive gold medals at the mega event.
However, Narang kept India in the hunt by finishing third with 598, a point behind world number 1 Niccolo Campriani of Italy and Romania's Moldoveanu Alin George who both shot an Olympic record-equalling 599 to stand first and second in the qualifying round at the Royal Artillery Barracks.

Bathinda (A.S. Brar) One of the medal hopes of Indian 10 meter Air pistol shooting team member Ms Heena Sidhu missed the Olympics final by a whisker today in London Olympics Games. According to information reached here today, She shot 382 out of 400 finished at 12th rank and missed the final qualification round of 10 meter air pistol competition. Another shooter in the air pistol team Ms Annuraj Singh also could not do well as she secured only 378 out of 400 and finished at 23rd rank in the air pistol competition. It may recalled that Ms Heena Sidhu is one of the best air pistol shooters of the country and belongs to Patiala in Punjab and she student of B.D.S at Gian Sagar College at Banur near Chandigarh.

New Delhi, July 21 (babushahi.com bureau): Punjab born world's oldest marathon runner Fauja Singh is to carry Olympic torch during the Olympic Torch Relay ceremony in London. The London Olympics are commencing on July 27th.
Besides being a proud moment for Indians, it would be an honour for Punjab, whose son-of-the-soil will carry the torch in Newham, one of the six host boroughs for the Olympic in UK. This is for the second time in the last eight years that 101-year-young Singh will undertake the relay. Earlier, it was in Athens Olympic where he carried the torch in the relay.
