New Zealand : Indian origin Doctor becomes MP for first time, congratulatory messages pouring in

Auckland, October 17, 2020 : A doctor of Indian origin Gaurav Mrinal Sharma from Hamilton city has been elected MP from ‘Hamilton West’ constituency. He defeated his nearest rival with 4425 votes and created history.
Dr Gaurav secured 16950 votes whereas 12525 were polled by his opponents Tim. Last Time Dr Gaurav has polled 11,487 votes. He did his medical degree from Washington and hailed from Hareta village in district Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. His father Girdhar Sharma studied at Jalandhar and they are closely associated with Punjab.
Purnima Kumari is his mother.
Dr Sahrma did his schooling from Adhunik Public School in Dharmshala and now resides in New Zealand with parents. Members of Indian origin community are sending congratulatory messages to him.
