Affected Punjab pensioners during a meeting in Surrey

Up in arms against the Punjab government’s decision to deduct DA and Medical allowance to the Punjab pensioners, residing in foreign countries, the affected have lodged a strong protest. The decision taken by the SAD-BJP lead Punjab government which the Finance department has enforced on September 15, has affected over 3 lakh pensioners , around the World, hard thus cutting their monthly pensions to just Rs 16,000.
Against the decision, over 400 affected persons, held a meeting in Surrey, BC Canada and decided to give presentation to the state government seeking roll back of the decision. The affected pensioners have also warned to approach the court if the Punjab government failed to review it decision, informed Prof Prithipal Singh Sohi, from Surrey.
In the meeting a committee was also formed to look into the issue, he added.
The affected persons have taking the decision as political and made up their mind to teach the government lesion in the ensuing Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections.
