Chandigarh, September 27, 2016 :
Under attack from AAP and other parties ,the Punjab government taking a serious note of the protest lodged by scores of Punjab pensioners, residing in foreign countries, is considering to review its decision on deduction of DA and Medical allowance. The government is likely to withdraw the decision taken by the finance department soon.
The issue was raised by senior Akali leader Tota Singh in the cabinet strongly.
Talking to babushahi.com, Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa, admitted that the government will review the decision shortly.
Sources, however, disclosed that the finance department took the decision without studying the issue and that too at such the time when the states is heading towards assembly elections.
Recently the affected Punjab pensioners, residing in foreign countries, had lodged a strong protest against the decision taken by the SAD-BJP lead Punjab government in Surrey BC (Canada).
The Finance department has enforced on September 15, has affected over 3 lakh pensioners , around the World, hard thus cutting their monthly pensions to just Rs 16,000.
The affected pensioners’ hade also warned to approach the court if the Punjab government failed to review it decision.
The affected pensioners had also warned the government to face the music in the ensuing Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections.
