Toronto January 18, 2017: (Sekha-Star News) A big group of Punjabi NRIs today took off for Punjab to campaign in support of AAP in Assembly election slated for February 4. They will land at Delhi tomorrow morning..
AAP spokesperson Sudeep Singla informed that they will leave for Punjab in a cavalcade of vehicles led by a specially designed bus under the banner Chalo Punjab. Deputy Chief Minister Delhi Manish Sisodia and AAP leader Kumar Vishwas will lead them. They will pass through Haryana in the form of a procession and reach Bathinda where AAP Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his team will welcome them.
Thousands of overseas supporters are coming down to Punjab from America, Europe and Australia. The logistical arrangements to ferry these supporters have been made by a the prominent overseas AAP volunteer Joban Randhawa and his team. Randhawa has been working for the party in Punjab for quite some time. Sumesh Handa, Avtar Brar and Pal Barwal of AAP Toronto team are leading these NRI supporters.
Notably, there is a great deal of excitement among overseas Punjabis about the Punjab elections which is being covered extensively on social, print and electronic media there. Overseas political observers are keeping a close watch on the election related developments there.
