Ahmadiyya Muslims offering Eid prayers in Masjid Aqsa at Qadian, Gurdaspur district on Saturday
Qadian (Gurdaspur), June 16, 2018: Thousands of Muslims men and women gathered here at the headquarter of Ahmediya Muslims to offer the congregational prayers and listen to the Eid sermon delivered by Maulana Ghori after the formal prayers.
Maulana Ghori said Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival that marks the end of the Holy month of Ramadhan. "This joyous day is celebrated to give thanks for the blessings of Ramadhan and Muslims attend the congregational Eid prayer service the day after the last fast."
"They wear new clothing, cook delicious food and invite friends and neighbors to celebrate with them," He added.
Muslims believe fasting during the month of Ramadan inspires sympathy for the hungry and needy, and encourages Muslims to generously help the poor.
Eid services concluded with Maulana Ghori leading the congregation in joint silent prayers and people hugged each other and expressed their best Eid wishes for their friends and families.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat organized an Eid Party at Darul Ziafat guest house where many Hindu, Sikh and Christian friends and acquaintances were also gathered to expressed their solidarity and offer good wishes to the Muslims.
Cabinet Minister Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, SGPC Member Gurinderpal Singh Gora, Senior youth Akali Dal (Badal) leader Jagroop Singh Sekhwan, Narinder Singh Sekhwan President Akali Dal Backward Cast Cell Gurdaspur, BJP Leader Ahsok Kumar, Maulana Fazalur Rehman Bhatti Secretary Amooraama, Chaudhry Abdul Wasey, Shiraz Ahmad Additional Chief Secretary Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat India, K Tarique Ahmad and other prominent leaders visited Ahmadiyya Headquarter and extended their wishes on this occasion.
