Foreign dignitaries jointly inaugurate mega MACHMA expo at Ludhiana

Ludhiana, December 6, 2019: The 4-day mega MACHMA expo being organised by Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) opened here in the presence of foreign dignitaries and a large number of entrepreneurs from Punjab and other parts of the country.
It was jointly inaugurated by Sanjay Talwar, MLA, Ludhiana and eight foreign dignitaries including Gabriel P. Sinimbo, High Commissioner, Namibia High Commission, Major General Chris Sunday Eze (Rtd.), High Commissioner, Nigeria High Commission, Josophine Patricia Ntyam Ehya, First Counsellor/Charge d'Affaires, Embassy of Gabon, Serge Thierry Mandoukou, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Gabon, Souleymane Boureima, Counsellor Embassy of the Niger, Brian Mwale Saka, First Secretary-Economic & Trade, High Commission of Zambia, Stella Budiriganya, Ambassador, Embassy of Burundi and Margaret Kedisi, Minister Counsellor, Uganda High Commission.
All of them took a round of the exhibition; saw various products displayed by the exhibitors showcasing the latest developments in the industrial machinery. They also shared their thoughts about the Indian industry.
On the occasion, that the purpose of inviting the official representatives of the African countries was to apprise them about the industrial products made in Ludhiana. “This can help their respective countries which are trying to setup Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). At the same time, the Punjab MSMEs will also be beneficiaries as export of their products to the African countries may also get a big boost,” he said.
Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU informed that more than 300 exhibitors were participating in the expo putting up 10,000 products on display attracting about 15,000 visitors on the opening day. “This expo will open new avenues for the Punjab MSMEs and enhance their business in the domestic and global market,” he added.
Speaking for the state government, MLA Sanjay Talwar said Rs 40 crore sanctioned for the development of the Focal Point roads will be released soon. He also assured to approach Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu to provide CICU Rs 5 lakh grant from his MP quota. MLA Ludhiana Central, Surinder Dawar also visited the exhibition.
Those present at the opening ceremony included Gupargat Singh Kahlon, President, Auto Parts Manufacturer Association, Avtar Singh Bhogal, Rajnish Bansal, Legal Secretary, CICU, Honey Sethi, Organising Secretary, CICU S.C Ralhan, S.B Singh, Joint Secretary, Ravinder Saini, Gautam Malhotra, CICU Vice President, Phuman Singh, Sanjay Dhiman, Joga Singh, Rajinder Singh Sarhali, Ved Parkash Ahuja and other prominent CICU members.
