Chandigarh, October 19, 2020: A new book on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra will be released on October 25, to commemorate 25th anniversary of his martyrdom.
Khalra uncovered thousands of state-enforced disappearances, illegal detentions, custodial killings, and mass cremations during the time of terrorism in Punjab. It is alleged that he was picked up by Punjab Police from his house on September 6, 1995 and that was the last time anyone saw him.
The book, written by Gurmeet Kaur, will be launched simultaneously at Dixie Gurdwara, Brampton, ON Canada and Chandigarh.
The book has been published in Punjabi as well as English in two separate editions.
