Bibi Jagir Kaur releases two important books for medical students
Amritsar, July 16, 2021: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur on Friday released two important books for the medical students and researchers.
In these books, one Ophthal-Next has been written by dean academic and Ophthalmologist of Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College Dr Shaukin Singh and Dr Manish Chhabra, while the book 'Biochemistry' is written by Dr Namrata Chhabra and edited by Dr Sahiba Kukreja.
Congratulating the authors and editors of the books on the occasion of the release of the books, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that it was a very responsible task and hoped that the students would reap the full benefits from these books. She said that it is a matter of great pleasure that medical-related literature has been written by the expert doctors of Sri Guru Ramdas Medical Institute.
On this occasion, the author of the book Ophthal-Next, Dr Shaukin Singh said that this book has been prepared keeping in view the preparation of tests for MBBS and postgraduates’ students and the good care of eye patients.
Dr Shaukin said the book contains general ophthalmic literature, patient checkups, various questions and answers sessions and about 400 photographs of patients showing different eye diseases.
On this occasion, Dr Shaukin Singh and Dr Namrata Chhabra thanked the SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur for releasing the books.
Meanwhile, PGIMER, Chandigarh director Dr Jagat Ram congratulated the authors of the books after joining the ceremony virtually. Dr Jagat Ram also lauded the services being rendered by Sri Guru Ramdas Medical College.
On this occasion the SGPC senior vice-president Surjit Singh Bhitewad, general secretary Bhagwant Singh Sialka, SGPC member Amrik Singh Vichhoa, Jodh Singh Samra, vice-chancellor of Sri Guru Ramdas University of Health Sciences Dr Daljit Singh, director principal Dr Manjit Singh Uppal, Dean A P Singh, Dr Shaukin Singh, Dr Pankaj, SGPC assistant secretary Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, OSDs to SGPC president Dr Sukhbir Singh and Dr Amrik Singh Latifpur and others were present.
