Kalapeeth Ferozepur releases Om Parkash Saroy’s book ‘Nina Jiyondi Hai’
Ferozepur, May 21, 2023: Kalapeeth Ferozepur, an organization that continuously strives for the expansion of word culture, organized a public presentation event of the famous writer and social activist Om Prakash Saroy's newly published book "Nina Jidi Hai" – an autobiographical novel, in an emotional manner.
The event was presided over by renowned Punjabi poet Prof. Jaspal Ghai while renowned Punjabi writer Prof. Gurtej Koharwala attended as the chief guest. Dr. Jagdeep Sandhu, District Language Officer Gurdial and many local writers were also present.
Introducing the book, Punjabi storyteller Gurmeet Kadialvi called this book a long poem written in love. Kadialvi described Om Prakash Saroy's life as a trinity of hard work, struggle and fellowship and the inspiration for all this was his late companion Neena.
Lal Singh Sulhani, mentioning Om Prakash Saroy's contribution to his society, praised him for paying exclusive tribute to his religious wife through this novel. The young thinker Sukhjinder got a glimpse of the practical form of Dalit thought from this book. Some 45 years ago today, the inter-caste marriage in Ferozepur got the consent of both the families, this was a great achievement of Om Prakash.
Speaking about the book, Prof. Gurtej Koharwala said that Om Prakash Saroy has tried to bear the grief of his wife's separation through words in a creative way, which is commendable. In his presiding speech, Prof. Jaspal Ghai, summing up the whole event in his thoughts, congratulated Om Prakash Saroy for the creation of a unique novel and praised the Kalapeeth for organizing a serious event on this novel.
