Chandigarh, September 03, 2016: Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) organized a meet the author and book launch function at UT Guest House here today, and released a fiction, “As Boys Become Men” by Mukul Kumar.
CLS Chairperson Dr Sumita Misra described the novel as a fresh breeze where the three protagonist friends preparing for Indian civil services explores the college life, friendship, romance, and all about negotiate life between dharma and desire, love and lust, and tricky situations.
It is a sparkling story of the bond between a boisterous trio on a journey of self-discovery, and how these boys become men, and students become civil servants, Mukul said.
The book is about three students preparing for their civil services examination, and in between this entertaining episodes, students preparing for the services examinations would find tips as to what not to do while preparing for the competition.
Mukul Kumar is a civil servant belonging to the 1997 batch and is presently posted as Director in the Infrastructure wing of the Ministry of Railways at New Delhi, who has been published in India and abroad. One of his poems “The Beggar” has been included in International library of poetry in United States, and has been awarded Life Membership of the Poetry Society (India).
His poems were also selected for anthology, titled Verse-a-Tile published in 2004 which is a collection of Poems by a few Central Indian Poets, and an anthology of his English poems titled ‘The Irrepressible Echoes” was published in 2012.
