Chandigarh, January 27, 2018: There are few Punjabi poets who have the privilege their book being published in other country and the language adopted by that country. Sehajpreet is lucky to have his book published in Shahmukhi in Pakistan and moreover second edition of his book is almost sold out. This is a moment of grate pride for the writers of Punjab and Punjabi. This was stated by Prof. Gurbhajan Gill ex-president Punjabi Sahit Acadamy and a noted poet while releasing the poetry book written and published in shahmukhi of prominent Punjabi Poet Sehajpreet Singh Mangat in an impressive function at Goovind National College Narangwal.
The reason behind publishing of this book and its so much popularity in Pakistan Punjab is terrorist attack in Peshawar by terrorists and killing hundreds of innocent children. Sehajpreet on very that day while condemning the attack, wrote a poem expressing his feelings against the attack and show solidarity with the beavered families. This poem was super hit in Pakistan and lots of people of other Punjab shared this on Social Media. Sehajpreet visited Pakistan to attend world Punjabi conference and his poems were praised by the local media in Lahore. Several publishers approached him to publish his book in Shahmukhi as people of that Punjab were keen to read all his poetry. That’s why the known “Sanj Publication Lahore and Dess Rang Publication Sahiwal published his book. There are lot of poems about Pakistan in this book, their problems, their culture and their life style. This was the reason for so much popularity of his poems in Pakistan.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Deepak Manmoan singh senior fellow Punjabi University Patiala said that through this book Sehajpreet basically want to improve the relations between both punjabs. He belongs to Katani Kalan, the village which has strong ties with Lahore. During partition a girl from this village went to Pakistan with her lover and got married over there. She is living happy life. Sehajpreet is collecting data of this episode and writing a Novel on it. Hopefully it will be completed by the end of this year. He said people of both Punjabs are in favour of good relations as they both have ties at each other’s place.
Prominent among others present were Dr. Hardaljit Singh Gosal Principal Govind National College Narangwal, Dr. Surinder Singh Sangha Principal Dashmesh College of Education Badal, Dr Dharam Singh Principal Government College for Boys Ludhiana, Sahit Akadami award winner novelist Nachhatar Singh, known poets Darshan Buttar, Jaswant Zafar, Satish Gulahti, Tarlok Bir, Sawaranjit Savi, Gurcharan Kaur Kochar, Trilochan Lochi, Manjinder Dhanoa, Hardial Sagar, Pali Khadim and various intellectuals of Punjabi.
