Ludhiana, May 18, 2018: Canada-based Punjabi author Harkirat Kaur Chahal’s new novel “Thoharan De Phull” was released at a function held in Punjab Agricultural University, here today.
The function was organised by Punjabi Sahit Akademi Ludhiana in association with PAU Sahit Sabha. This is Chahal's second novel.
This novel was released by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) Ludhiana Vice Chancellor Dr Amarjit Singh Nanda, Guru Nanak Dev University former VC Dr SP Singh, Punjab Bhawan Surrey (Canada) founder Sukhi Bath, Punjabi Sahit Akademi President Prof Ravinder Bhathal, former president Prof Gurbhajan Gill, besides several others.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Gurbhajan Gill said that Harkirat Kaur Chahal’s novels depict various aspects of human life, womanhood, as well as our family values. He said that PAU Ludhiana has a rich legacy of literature as Chahal is also its former student.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included novelist Baldev Singh Sadaknama, Punjabi University’s Dean of Journalism Dr Harjinder Singh Walia, poet Amar Sufi, Sehajpreet Mangat, Trailochan Lochi, Dr Jagwinder Jodha, besides several others.
Gurpreet Singh Toor, Gurmeet Karialvi, Gurcharan Kaur Kochar, Satish Gulati, Jagtar Singh Sanghera, Pritpal Kaur Chahal also addressed the gathering.
