Anand Mahindra gets nostalgic on Diwali, reminisces his visit to Golden Temple in 1975
Chandigarh, November 15, 2020: Diwali, the festival of light that was celebrated in India on Saturday amid the Covid-19 pandemic, got many nostalgic of good old days. Business tycoon Anand Mahindra who is quite active on social media also took to twitter to share beautiful memory associated with his travel days during the semester off from college.
65-year-old chairman of Mahindra Group posted a picture of a beautifully-lit photograph of Golden Temple and a Kada (a religious bracelet). Golden Temple's fireworks display on Diwali which is also celebrated as Bandi Chhor Diwas is a splendid sight and attracts visitors from across the world.
“In 1975 I took a semester off from college in the U.S & hitchhiked/took ST buses around India," read his post.
Mahindra further shared about the time when he arrived in Amritsar on the occasion of Diwali where he brought a Kada and got it blessed in Golden Temple.
"On Diwali, I arrived in Amritsar. I bought a Kada & had it blessed in the Golden Temple. I have not taken it off since then. Back in the US, my friends called it my ‘steel bangle," his post further read.
