District Yoga Association hosts championship; Over 100 Students from 20 Schools Participate
Ferozepur, September 1, 2024: The District Yoga Association successfully organized its annual district-level yoga championship, featuring participants from over 20 schools, including more than 100 students and yoga practitioners up to 80 years old. The event was held at the Manek Shaw Hall of DC Model Senior Secondary School under the leadership of Dr. Aniruddh Gupta, President of Punjab Yoga Association. The championship featured competitions across various age groups, with students showcasing impressive performances. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Principal Yachna Chawla, and was hosted by Vice President Vishva Bandhu.
Association Secretary Dr. Gurnam Singh Farmaha highlighted the presence of special guests, including Thana Cantt In-charge Gurjant Singh, Special Branch In-charge Inspector Narinder Sharma, ITO and Association Patron Vivek Malhotra, Deputy DEO Dr. Satinder Singh, Red Cross Secretary Ashok Bahl, and others, who encouraged the participants and were honored by the association.
PRO Vikramaditya Sharma announced the winners: In the under-8 to 10 girls category, Shivanya from DC Model School won first place, while Savir from Das and Brown School topped the boys’ category. Among 10-12-year-olds, Veerpal Kaur from Government School Lohgarh and Pranav from Sunshine School won in their respective categories. The championship also saw winners in other age groups, including participants up to 45 years and above.
