Punjab Edu. Dept cancels NOC of Malerkotla based school for striking off student’s name over fee
Sangrur, December 3, 2020: The department of School Education Punjab on Thursday cancelled the NOC (non-objection certificate) of a Malerkotla based private school for striking off the name of a student over late fee payment.
As per the orders issued by Harpal Singh, Secretary School Education Punjab, the department of school education has cancelled the NOC issued to Sita Grammar School, Malerkotla in Sangrur district for violating the orders of state government and that of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
In May, the department of School Education has issued various directions to all the private schools regarding school fees, online/distant learning classes, salaries and services of staff etc in the view of Covid-19 Pandemic
The order further stated that the department has acted on the complaint of Sahil Jindal, student’s father whose name was removed from the rolls over fee payment.
“A complaint was received from Sahil Jindal, that he was asked to pay 3 months advance fees of his child and the name of his child was stuck off from the school,” the orders letter.
Following the parent complaint, a show cause notice was issued to school. While the reply to the same was received by the department, it was found unsatisfactory.
