The Department of Physics, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda organized “Big Bang’s Fresher’s Party-2021” to welcome the first year students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics and M.Sc. (Physics) on Friday.
Quiz and talent based competitions were organised and outstanding performances were rendered by the students. Based on the performance of the fresher’s in introduction, talent and question rounds, Mr. Pranav and Ms. Priyanka won the title of Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher from M.Sc. (Physics) and Mr. Harbans Singh and Ms. Lipsi bagged the title of Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher from B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics.
Mr. Pushpinder Singh from M.Sc. (Physics) and Ms. Amandeep from B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics bagged the prize for “Best Personality”.
The second year students of M.Sc. (Physics) and B.Sc.(Hon) Physics organised this event under the guidance of Dr. Gagan Gupta, Coordinator of the event.
Prof. (Dr.) Jasbir Singh Hundal, Head, Department of Physics-cum - Dean, Research and Development, MRSPTU, while addressing the students informed them about the facilities available in the department and the future job prospects of Physics graduates in teaching, research and armed forces.
He also highlighted that the department has well established and best equipped undergraduate, postgraduate and research laboratories and that the major strength of the department is its Faculty having vast teaching and research experience within India and abroad.
While sharing inspirational words with the audience, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kansal motivated the students to set their goals, work hard and go ahead.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Buta Singh Sidhu appreciated the department of Physics for organizing this event.
The faculty members Dr. Veena Sharma, Dr. Satnam Singh, Ms. Sumandeep Kaur, staff members and research scholars of Department of Physics were also present on this occasion.
