13.2 percent increase in number of students in Govt schools in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 15, 2021: While the bottom line is to increase enrollment in government schools, the exercise is also helping change perception of education in government schools, with the availability of infrastructure equal to private schools. There had been 13.20 per cent increase in enrollment in class VI to XII as compared to last year, said Kulwinder Kaur, District Education Officer(Secondary).
Reaching out to parents, these teams are adopting methods like nukkad nataks, songs, making short films highlighting the achievements of government schools to spread the message.
The officials of the department, school heads and teachers have been going all out and carrying out door-to-door campaigns to highlight extension and augmentation of infrastructural facilities, innovative teaching techniques, activity-based learning, Smart Classrooms, Educational Parks, e-content, option of English Medium as well as welfare schemes like free books, uniforms, mid-day meal, scholarships to eligible beneficiaries.
DEO said, the credit for increase of 13.20 per cent in government schools goes to teachers and able leadership of the education department. Zira bock is currently at the top of 11 blocks in Ferozepur, with 22.51 increase than last year. In Mamdot 13.88, Ferozepur 13.68, Mallanwala Khas 13.00, Ferozepur-3 12.63, Makhu 12.14, Satiwala 11.83, Ferozepur-2 11.60, Guruharsahai-1 11.28, Guruharsahai-2 10.83 and Ghal Khurd increased 9.3 per cent.
DEO further said, this year, 6,593 more students enrolled in class VI to XII have increased their enrollment by 13.20 percent this year with Zira block at the forefront in admission.
