Patiala, July 28, 2022: MG (Morris Garages) Motor India presents Gloster to Thapar Institute, Patiala, to foster skill development and bridge the gap between academia and industry. The initiative is aligned with the MG Nurture program and with MG's goal of CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric) mobility.
This will foster student skill development and prepare them for better employment opportunities.
Pankaj Parker, MG Motor India, said, “We are delighted to partner with Thapar Institute to ensure the current generation’s skill development in the mobility segment. We feel this initiative will add value to help children become technologically savvy for the auto-tech industry and prepare them for future job opportunities.”
Speaking about the partnership with MG Motor India, the Director of Thapar Institute said, “We are honored by the kind gesture of MG Motor, which will add advanced vehicular technology as a skillset for our Engineering students. This will help to make students job-ready and prepare them for better industry prospects. The learning and hands-on experience of cutting-edge technologies will make our students competent professionals as we envisage”.
The partnership will introduce students to vehicular systems and help them understand how to perform primary inspection procedures on cars.
It will empower students with hands-on research on various electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems of technologically advanced vehicles. Students will study various parts, technology, and systems, including vehicle chassis and structure, gearbox, brakes, wheel and tyre assembly, vehicle lighting system, clutches, and much more.
They will also get an opportunity to learn about the car's aesthetic and interior design aspects by dismantling and assembling the vehicle, allowing them to design different components as a part of their assignments.
Moreover, students will get a deep insight into the twin-turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder diesel engine and Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance System, key highlights of Gloster.
This will enhance their future employability and make them industry ready for MG or any other automotive brand. This is a step towards experiential learning for the budding engineers of Thapar Institute.
