Grand Parents Day celebrations held at VWS
Ferozepur, September 23, 2022: Grand Parents Day was celebrated in the campus of Vivekananda World School (VWS) to respect and cherish the loving bond between grandparents and grandchildren.
The event was followed by dance, melodies, music, and fancy dress by students apart from certain games for the elders and ramp walk, which reminded the audience of their childhood.
Coordinator Academic and Supportive Activities (CASA), Anjali Bhandari said that in today’s time when the elderly are struggling with mental and physical problems in their homes and keeping this in mind, Dr.G.S Dhillon, graced the event by attending as the chief guest and addressed the seniors present in the event to keep them mentally and physically healthy regarding the small and big difficulties they face in their lives.
He said, it serves as a day that can help create awareness about the loneliness and social isolation that senior citizens face across the world.
She said that due to today's modernity and increasing trend towards social media, students are now keeping distant from their grandparents. While the grandparents used to give moral education to children as they are children's first teachers and friends, from whom our children learn mutual support and understanding.
Vipan Sharma Manager thanked the chief guest with a word of advice to the children to give company to their grandparents to learn from their life experiences.
