CGC Landran hosts season 4 of Everest Better Kitchen Culinary Challenge

Chandigarh College of Hospitality, CGC Landran hosted season 4 of the Everest-Better Kitchen Culinary Challenge (Everest-BKCC) which saw GNA University, Phagwara emerge as the winner. Institute of Hotel Management, Bhatinda and Rayat Bahra University School of Hotel Management, Mohali were adjudged the first and second runners-up, respectively. The competition conducted on the theme – ‘Flavours of India’, saw the participation of 48 teams from 30 colleges across the region.
The jury for the Everest-BKCC comprised Kedar Bobde - Executive Chef, Hyatt Regency Chandigarh, Vikas Chawla - Celebrity and consultant chef and Dr. Izzat Hussain, Culinary Educator. The participating teams were adjudged on the basis of ingredients used in the delicacies, creativity and innovation employed in their preparation and final presentation in keeping with the overall theme of the challenge. Dignitaries present on the occasion included Ms Ekta Bhargava, Publisher, Better Kitchen magazine, Mr Virendra Bhargava, Founder and Director, Bandwagon Media, Dr. PN. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director CGC Landran among others.
Organised annually, this challenge seeks to offer a unique platform to budding chefs to exhibit their culinary flair. It also aims to promote and popularize regional Indian cuisine and ingredients across the globe. Scheduled to be held in 15 cities across India, including Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bhopal, Dehradun, Vadodara, Jaipur, Goa among others, the grand finale of the Everest-BKCC will be held at Mumbai in February 2023.
