Vijay, Member, Food Commission expresses satisfaction after tasting mid-day meal at Govt Schools
Ferozepur, March 7, 2023: Vijay Dutt, Member Punjab State Food Commission expressed satisfaction after tasting the mid-day meal being served to the students in government primary schools during his visit to Ferozepur on Tuesday.
Dutt visited the Government Primary Schools Satiyawala and Bazidpur and checked the quality of food provided to the students through a mid-day meal. He also visited the Anganwadi Center at the school. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Shri Arun Kumar Sharma was specially present on this occasion.
Earlier, Vijay Dutt, Member had a meeting with various officials of the district regarding mid-day meal, Anganwadi centers etc. and necessary instructions were given to the extent that eligible beneficiaries should get the benefit of the government schemes and no needy person should be deprived of the government facilities. Apart from this, he said that the mail of the commission and the complaint numbers must be displayed so that the complainant does not face any difficulty in filing the complaint. He also directed to ensure proper arrangements for making Aadhar Cards of the children besides asking the health department to conduct a medical check-up of the cooks in the schools after every 6 months . Information regarding the commission's work can be obtained.
He said that in addition to implementing the National Food Security Act 2013 and providing maximum benefits to the common people under this Act, information about the National Food Security Act is also provided to the general public so that everyone has information about food security. He said that along with filing a complaint on the commission's website, a complaint can also be sent to the helpline number 98767-64545.
He also visited Basti Tankanwali and also checked the ration depot and discussed the distribution of ration with the people.
During his visit to the government primary school Satiyewala and Bazidpur, he tasted the food provided to the students in the mid-day meal and the Anganwadi centers and expressed his satisfaction on maintaining its quality. During this checking, instructions were issued to the concerned officials to remove the defects noticed by the member with immediate effect and necessary suggestions were also given.
