Rs 15 crore released for State Institute Of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education in Jhajjar-Minister Mool Chand

Chandigarh, February 21, 2024 - Haryana Minister of Higher Education, Mool Chand Sharma, said that the government has already released a non-recurring grant of Rs. 15 crore for the State Institute Of Advanced Studies In Teacher Education (SIASTE) in Jhajjar.
Mool Chand Sharma was responding to a question asked by Smt. Geeta Bhukkal during the question hour of the ongoing Haryana Vidhan Sabha budget session here today.
He also informed the House that after receiving an estimated cost from the Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Haryana, construction will be undertaken.
Presently, in addition to 1 Principal and 1 Director, there are 19 teaching staff and 20 non-teaching employees working in the institution. Presently, out of the sanctioned 400 seats, a total of 359 students are enrolled in the institution
.He also informed the House that the State Institute of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education is the first of its kind initiative by any state government in the country.
53 acres 17 marlas of land have been allocated by the government for the construction of its building. The building plan prepared by Haryana's chief architect was approved by the Department of Higher Education, Haryana, on August 22, 2023.
It is noteworthy that the SIASTE, Jhajjar, is conducting a four-year integrated BA-B.Ed./B.Sc.-B.Ed. programme. The institute has been granted recognition by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Government of India, since September 16, 2013.
