Amritsar, May 21, 2024 -Guru Nanak Dev University ranks in the top 9.3% (at 1975 out of 20966 universities) worldwide according to the 2024 edition of the outcome-based Global 2000 list released by the Centre for World University Ranking. The ranking is based on four objective indicators i.e. education, employability, faculty, and research.
The Ranking is based on 62 million outcome-based data points. According to the survey, GNDU ranks at 767th place in Asia. It's employability and research ranks are placed at 1541st and 1899th rank respectively. GNDU is the only multi-specialty State University of the Northern Region (Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh) to attain these outstanding achievements. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu congratulated the faculty, staff, research scholars, and students for taking the university to high peaks worldwide.
He said that high-quality academics, highly cited research, and high employability of all the programs of the university have brought laurels to the university. Upslacing the H-index from 64 to 145 with the top 10 percent highly cited papers in Scopus is a remarkable achievement of the university, he added.
Its NIRF ranking at 48th position makes GNDU a part of the elite club of high-quality higher educational institutions in the country. NAAC has accredited GNDU with a CGPA of 3.85 on a 4 4-point scale at "A++" grade (highest level) and UGC has conferred it with "University with Potential for Excellence " status.
The University's unmatching achievements in sports and cultural events are visible at the national and international arena, which makes GNDU very popular across the geographies.
