IIT Ropar unveils second International Conference on Agri-centric Computation in IIT Delhi

Ropar, May 27, 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar is honored to announce the second edition of the International Conference on Agriculture-Centric Computation (ICA 2024).
This leading conference, organized by IIT Ropar iHub - AWaDH in partnership with IIIT Delhi, promises to convene a distinguished gathering of experts, researchers, and industry leaders at the forefront of agricultural and computational technologies.
The conference began with an inspiring inaugural session, featuring Mr. Amitabh Nag, CEO of BHASHINI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. His address emphasised the pivotal role of technology in transforming agriculture, setting an optimistic tone for the event.
The inauguration was attended by dignitaries including Prof. Santanu Chaudhary from IIT Delhi and Prof. Jitendra Paliwal from the University of Manitoba, USA.
Following the inauguration, Prof. Jitendra Paliwal delivered an enlightening keynote address, sharing invaluable insights into the future of agriculture-centric computation. His expertise in the intersection of agricultural practices and computational techniques provided a robust foundation for the conference discussions.
Attendees also benefited from a series of invited talks by distinguished speakers. Prof. Santanu Chaudhary from IIT Delhi shared insights into cutting-edge agricultural systems, while Prof.
Debi Prasad Mishra, Director of NITTTR Kolkata, delved into innovative strategies for agricultural advancement. Prof. Kavya Dashora from IIT Delhi discussed the latest developments in agriculture-centric technologies, and Prof. Bakul Rao from CTARA, IIT Bombay, provided a comprehensive overview of sustainable agricultural practices and technologies.
The conference sessions focused on themes crucial to the future of agriculture. The "Agriculture Systems" session explored the latest advancements and systems integration in agriculture, while the "Machine Learning in Agriculture" session highlighted the role of machine learning and data analytics in enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability.
In addition to the insightful presentations, the conference features include two keynote addresses, four invited talks, three tutorials, two panels, a Founder's talk, six technical sessions, and one poster session.
The event has attracted a significant number of submissions: 82 total papers, with 21 accepted as full papers, 7 as short papers, and 30 posters (13 accepted for presentation). The papers were reviewed by a committee of 44 reviewers, with several international submissions and contributions from international authors.
ICA 2024 aims to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants, driving forward innovative solutions in agriculture through computational advancements.
