GNDU in top 1000 Global Club as per ScholarGPS 2022 Institutional Rankings

Amritsar, May 27, 2024: ScholarGPS 2022 Institutional Ranking framework has placed GNDU at 1119 rank in the previous five-year ranking (2018–2022) and #2836 in the lifetime ranking on a global scale.
Agriculture and Natural Resources ranked #191 out of all field specializations, followed by Life Sciences (694), Physical Sciences and Mathematics (819), Engineering and Computer Science (948). In 2022, GNDU had Institutional Ranking Lifetime of #1772, according to the ScholarGPS database, but over the past five years, it has improved to rank #951.
Three types of rankings were provided by the ScholarGPS database: institutional, national, and global overall. The institutional ranking was based on 177 disciplines with specializations in 14 fields. Based on productivity, influence, and quality, ScholarGPS, a recently founded data analytics business in Los Angeles, California, USA, has created thorough profiles and rankings of scholars and institutions.
It extracted data from 30 million individual academic records that are connected to more than 55,000 academic and non-academic institutions globally using machine learning techniques, quantifiable, multi-level rankings of academics' and institutions' output in relation to the caliber and significance of their research output.
This tool is intended for individuals working in academia, corporate R&D, government funding agencies, research laboratories, publishing and media, law firms, private equity, and venture capital, as well as other relevant fields. Its purpose is to help these organizations identify people with specific, verifiable expertise who can collaborate on projects, hire new staff, serve as consultants and advisers, be recognized as Top Scholars by Expertise.
Recently Guru Nanak Dev University has also been ranked in the top 9.3 per cent (at 1975 out of 20966 universities) worldwide according to the 2024 edition of the outcome-based Global 2000 list released by the Centre for World University Ranking.
Under the dynamic perseverance and invincible leadership of worthy Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, the University is touching new heights in all arenas of curricular/co-curricular activities since 2017. In the research field as per Scopus database, Universty’s h-index has increased to 146 which is 47% significant rise since his leadership.
Similarly, 47% rise in number of high quality research publications has been observed. A remarkable 57% rise in Highest Impact Factor per publication has been recorded. More than 95% rise in number of patents awarded to the Institution has also been documented. Similarly the University has witnessed more than 50% rise in number of books/book chapters published since 2017.
The research funding of approximately thirty crores has been recently granted to the University besides more than 65 ongoing major Research Projects awarded to the faculty from various International/National agencies.
The University has also signed more than 75 International/National MoUs with various organizations of repute. With the constant support and motivation of worthy Vice Chancellor, the faculty of the University has been awarded with the prestigious awards in research like German-Humboldt Research Fellowship, Japan-JSPS Fellowship, Indo-US Fellowship for Women, Indo-Canadian Research Fellowship and INSA International Exchange Programme Awards.
Eighteen Researchers of the University have been identified in World’s Top 2% Best Scientists List released by Stanford University of USA. Research.Com has also identified four GNDU Scientists in its Top 1% Best Scientists discipline-wise.
