NITTTR, Chandigarh celebrates 57th Annual Day

Chandigarh, September 7, 2024: National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh (Ministry of Education, Government of India) celebrated its 57th Annual Day on Saturday.
The annual day function was graced by Gulab Chand Kataria Governor, Punjab, and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh.
Speaking on the occasion Governor congratulated NITTTR Chandigarh on being accorded the “Deemed to be University” status (Distinct Category) and expressed his best wishes for the Institute to take forward the vision of Viksit Bharat and nurture talent for the development of indigenous solutions towards technological advancements.
He also emphasized on the role and importance of teachers in the societal and economic development of any country by providing numerous examples for the same
He specifically elaborated on the vital part that NITTTR Chandigarh can play in this journey of making our nation a global leader across the domains. Prof. (Dr.) Binod Kumar Kanaujia, Director, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar was the Guest of Honour for the event. Prof. (Dr.) Kanaujia laid down the need for quality educational institutes for the character-building of the youth.
Prof. (Dr.) Bhola Ram Gurjar, Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh presented the Institute Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the institute marking a significant milestone in its journey towards excellence in the higher educational domain and up-skilling of the technical workforce.
Meritorious students were awarded by the dignitaries during the function. Awards for ‘Best Polytechnic’ and ‘Best Engineering College’ were also conferred to recognize their significant contributions as flag bearers of quality technical education in northern India.
The celebrations were marked by several other activities by NITTTR Chandigarh which included a panel discussion on ‘Status of Implementation of NEP 2020 & the way forward in HEIs’ involving Vice-Chancellors /Directors/ Principals of various HEIs.
As an initiative to serve the society, an interactive session was also organized with several senior officials from government and quasi-government organizations in and around tri-city to identify areas of improvement in enhancing quality of life in terms of infrastructure, and needs for human resource development in engineering and allied areas.
In a special ceremony, the notable contributions of NITTTR Chandigarh’s staff were also recognized by awarding them. The celebrations also included a vibrant cultural evening by students, staff, and faculty of the institute.
