Mumbai (Maharastra), August 18, 2025: Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who is currently on his New York tour, is once again winning hearts with his simplicity and charm. Videos of his encounters on the streets of New York are going viral on social media — showing both the warmth of local police and the deep affection of fans.
In a video shared by Diljit on his social media, he is seen strolling on a New York street when a police car stops near him. A Punjabi-origin police officer inside the vehicle greets him over the mic with a cheerful announcement: “Punjabi aa gaye oye!” The gesture left Diljit smiling, and he stopped to interact with the officer, who revealed he was a huge fan of the singer-actor.
In another viral video, an Indian fan holds Diljit’s hand emotionally and presses it to his forehead. Overwhelmed, the fan tells him, “You are our pride. Sat Sri Akal sir, today my dream has come true. Waheguru has blessed me. Keep shining, our love will always be with you.” Diljit humbly folded his hands and bowed in gratitude.
These viral moments come at a time when Diljit’s latest film Jatt and Juliet 3, co-starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, faced controversies in India over its release. Despite the hurdles, the film has crossed ₹70 crore at the overseas box office, further cementing Diljit’s global star power.
Up next, Diljit will be seen in a landmark role in Border-2, where he will portray Flying Officer Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon, the only Param Vir Chakra awardee from the Indian Air Force. Sekhon displayed extraordinary bravery during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, taking on six enemy fighter jets single-handedly before sacrificing his life. The role is expected to be one of the most defining performances of Diljit’s career.
