Amritsar (Punjab), October 28, 2025: Several Sikh fans were denied entry to singer Diljit Dosanjh’s first-ever stadium concert in Australia after they were barred from carrying their religious symbol, the Kirpan, into the venue.
The concert, held on Sunday night at Parramatta in Western Sydney, witnessed a crowd of nearly 25,000 people. Members of the Sikh community who refused to remove the Kirpan at the security gates were reportedly denied entry and offered ticket refunds.
Reacting to the incident, the Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajcondemned the decision of the Australian authorities, calling it an infringement of religious rights.

He stated that freedom to practice one’s faith must be respected across the globe as well as in India, and urged international administrations to ensure due regard for Sikh identity and traditions.
