Ferozepur, November 2, 2025: A captivating musical awareness event, titled “Music Awareness Campaign – Suriley Fankaar,” enchanted students and staff at Shaheed Sukhwinder Singh School of Eminence in Mallanwala. Organized by the Sur Aangan organization under the guidance of renowned visually impaired poet and musician Dr. Rajesh Mohan, the program aimed to foster appreciation for pure and high-quality music among the younger generation.
Hosted by the school’s NSS Department, the event was spearheaded by Principal Sanjeev Tandon and NSS Program Officer Deepak Sharma, with active involvement from enthusiastic students and faculty.
The proceedings kicked off with Dr. Rajesh Mohan’s heartfelt recitation of Baba Farid Ji’s spiritual verses, infusing the venue with a sense of serenity and inspiration. Young vocalist Kirandeep Kaur from the Suriley Fankaar team followed with a stirring performance of Punjabi poet Surjit Patar’s “Jagga De Mombattiyan,” earning rapturous applause from the audience.
Adding to the cultural richness, Muskan from Brijindra College’s Music Department delivered a mesmerizing rendition of the classic folk song “Mora.” Gagandeep Kaur Bukkan brought vibrant energy with her dynamic portrayal of the iconic Punjabi folk tale “Mirza,” while Kamal Gill paid homage to traditional sounds through Kuldeep Manak’s timeless kali, “Tere Tille Ton Soorat Dikhndi Heer Di.”
Instrumental support from Harshvardhan Charan on dholak, Sahil Tagoria on tabla, and Rajan Gupta on harmonium enriched each act, providing a rhythmic foundation that elevated the performances. Harpreet Kaur skillfully anchored the stage throughout.
As the event drew to a close, the Sur Aangan artists offered a delightful medley of songs, culminating in Dr. Rajesh Mohan’s beloved composition “Rang-Birange Bol.” The students joined in with gusto, turning the school grounds into a vibrant symphony of voices.
In a touching finale, numerous students sought autographs from the Suriley Fankaar performers, underscoring the program’s lasting impact and inspiration.
Principal Sanjeev Tandon, NSS Officer Deepak Sharma, and the entire staff expressed profound gratitude to Sur Aangan and the artists, highlighting how such initiatives contribute significantly to students’ overall growth and cultural enrichment.
