Before going to the polling booth, take help of ‘Voter Q Information System’ facility
Moga, May 26, 2024: Before going to their polling booths on the polling day on June 1, the voters of Punjab will know how many people are queuing up to cast their votes at their booths. The Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab Sibin C launched the 'Voter Q Information System' on Saturday keeping in mind the convenience of the voters. This system has been developed in collaboration with NIC Punjab and META.
DC-cum-DEO, Kulwant Singh said that to use the Voter Q Information System, voters must send a message by typing 'vote' on a WhatsApp number 7447447217. After this, a link will be received after clicking on which 2 options – one - Location Wise and two - Booth Wise will appear on the screen.
He said that after selecting the location-wise option, the voter will have to share his location, after which a list of polling booths near the voter's house will appear on the mobile screen. After this, the voter will have to write the booth number and immediately the information will appear on the mobile screen as to how many voters are standing in the queue to vote at that booth.
He further said that if the voter selects the second option booth-wise, then after selecting the state of Punjab, he has to select his district and all the assembly constituencies of that district will appear on the screen. After selecting his assembly constituency, the respective booth number has to be filled, with which the voter will be able to know the number of voters standing to vote at his booth.
He said that while on the one hand, all kinds of arrangements are being made to protect the voters from the heat on the voting day on June 1, on the other hand, through this voting queue system, the voter will be able to go to the polling booth and cast his vote at that time. when the booth is not crowded. This will also save the voter from heat and save his time.
