Black Fungus: UT administration to buy 2k vials of Liposomal Amphotericin B injection
Chandigarh, May 24, 2021:
Chandigarh administration has placed an order for buying 2,000 vials of Liposomal Amphotericin B injection, used for treatment of Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) with Mylan, a global pharmaceutical company.
"We have placed the order for 2000 vials of Liposomal Amphotericin B injection (used for treatment of Mucormycosis) with Mylan company for supply costing about Rs 1.2 Crores," said UT Adviser, Manoj Parida.
He added, "To ensure early receipt of medicines for Mucormycosis/Black Fungus, we followed Punjab tender rates and placed orders for urgent supply."
The administration also informed that there are 62 patients of Mucormycosis in the hospitals of the city. Among these 62 patients, only 10 patients are city residents (two in PGI, six in GMCH-32 and 2 in Healing Hospital).
